Yolanda Powell, Co-Owner & Office Admin

All my life I’ve naturally been drawn to helping. I retired from my nursing career of 20+ years to help my husband grow our business.

I looked at it as an extension of my nursing, helping people. It’s crucial with such a major purchase in one’s life to know what they’re getting into prior to purchasing, our visual home inspection does just that.

Can’t tell you the many stories of missed opportunities with purchasing homes w/o being inspected shared by some buyers, it’s heart-breaking to hear. We walk through with buyers, agents, and some family members to educate them on their new home and answering all of their questions, this goes a long way.

Good Customer Service goes a long way. Being personable, smiling, and attentiveness to customer needs is what they remember.

Raphael Martin, Inspector

Why do you want to become an inspector?

I love people, knowledge, and real estate, so becoming a home inspector affords me the opportunity to work closely with all three. I understand that shopping for a new home is as exciting as it is overwhelming. For most people, its a very vulnerable time and an intensely stressful undertaking. So my role as a home inspector allows me to assist them in making an informed decision, by providing fair and accurate information.

What do you love most about being an inspector?

I love that no two homes are the same and no two people are the same. So each day I get to enjoy a completely different experience, while being an impactful part of someone else’s journey.

What certification or training have you received in the past that can help you in this home inspector business and that you would like others to know?

I have training and experience in different facets of housing construction. I also have had extensive hands-on work experience with a very passionate certified master inspector, who has given me both the tools and the knowledge it takes to become a high-quality inspector.

What are your interests/hobbies outside work?

I am heavily involved in a community outreach program, where I have the opportunity to help individuals within the community to increase their quality of life through guidance and education. Additionally, I enjoy spending time with my family and various outdoor activities.
